Kifissia
Kifissia is Athens' most elegant northern suburb, a green escape 14 km from the centre that feels like a different city. Million-euro mansions, plane-tree-lined boulevards, designer shopping and fine dining define this upscale enclave. In summer, its altitude makes it noticeably cooler than central Athens.

Getting around
Kifissia is the northern terminus of metro line 1 (Green / ISAP) — about 35-40 minutes from Monastiraki. Suburban railway (Proastiakos) also serves Kifissia station. By car, it's 25 minutes from the centre outside rush hour; traffic on Kifissias Avenue can be heavy during peak times.
Safety
Kifissia is one of the safest areas in the Athens metro — it's affluent, well-policed and quiet. Walking at any hour is fine. It's a family-oriented suburb with little street crime.
